The Brothers of Chi Psi just wanted to formally welcome you all to George Mason University. Hopefully move in went well, and you are all situated. Rush isn’t for three weeks, but we are going to be having some small events in the mean time, so please you are all more than welcome to attend, have a good time, and meet some good guys.

The Brothers of Chi Psi are now accepting letter of recommendations from potential members. Because we want only the very best men on the George Mason University campus, we ask that if you can provide us with two letters of recommendation, it would only help to prove to us that you are committed to becoming one with our Brotherhood. Letters do not have to be hand written. Letters can be emailed to me at adicarl1@gmail.com.

Once again Chi Psi proves that it recruits smart men. Congrats to the Spring Pledge Class on having the highest GPA among all other IFC Pledge Classes. Chi Psi as a chapter, was ranked 2nd with a cumulative GPA of 2.89, which is above All Greek, and All Men.

If you would take 5 mins of your time to fill out our new Membership Information Form, it would be greatly appreciated. Just click the following link, answer the questions as best as you can, and you’re done. Here is the link. http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=clR3YVlCMUljNks0eVA1M3JvaGZ2TXc6MA..

Omega Delta Top Fundraiser in Relay 2009

The most anticipated weekend of the spring 2009 semester proved to be the best of the schoolyear. On April 18th, the actives of Omega Delta participated in the third annual Relay For Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society on Mason’s campus.

In 2007, the Alpha set a goal of $300, and met it. In 2008, the Alpha raised $1,620, and this year we set an incredibly ambitious goal of $4,000. Not only was that goal reached but it was surpassed! This year, the Alpha raised $5,855.42! That’s over fifteen percent of the entire $35,303 raised at this year’s event.

From the generosity of friends, family, and alumni, the actives ended the weekend as the top fundraising team. Omega Delta raised more than $2,600 more than the second-place team, Kappa Alpha who raised $3,200. This is proof that the Alpha’s efforts not only forced them to work hard to reach their goals, but also raised the bar for all teams to raise more money for a great cause.

Individually, the Alpha dominated the top ten fundraisers:

  • #2 Max Liffers(`10) – $950
  • #3 Corey Callahan (`09) – $820
  • #4 The Pledges (now New Inititates) – $725
  • #9 Teddy (`10) & Joey (`12) Meyer – $468

The group walked in memory of Brother Malcom D. “Jack” Jeffrey who passed away from cancer in early 2009.  The Alpha also participated in memory of Mr. Mark Garrow, the late uncle of Brother Jacob Szewczyk (`10), and Mrs. Linda Ahlberg, the late wife of Dr. Dan Ahlberg(Nu `67). Though we were honoring those who have lost their lives to cancer and hoping our funds will help prevent it, there was a great sense of pride felt by all Chi Psi’s in attendance.

The Alpha would like to thank everyone who donated their time and money to helping us reach our goals this year and in those past. We look forward to your continued support in 2010! For more information, please visit www.gmurelay.org.

Omega Delta Among the Top Relay For Life Fundraisers in 2008

On April 12-13, Chi Psi participated in the Second Annual GMU Relay For Life, held at the Fieldhouse. We raised $1,670.00 in an extraordinary rally for the finish. With the kindness and generosity of our friends, families and alumni, Alpha Omega Delta was able to raise the most of any other student organization on campus by the start of the event (Gamma Phi Beta came from behind and received a large donation at the end of the weekend)!

Great work Brothers in the fight versus Cancer!
